get involved

We need our neighbors, our representatives, and the media to see a huge public outcry about what the Trump/Musk regime is doing. In addition to taking the actions we outline in our Weekly Action Alerts, we encourage you to consider the options below, pull some friends together to brainstorm other ideas, and do more to help build the backlash!

Reach out to us for support and please share your plans with us.

  • Post our MAI flyers around town

Keep some MAI flyers with you wherever you go and share them with friends you bump into at the grocery store, the Post Office, etc.

Encourage your friends on social media to follow our social media pages.

    - Forward our Weekly Action Alerts to friends and urge them to sign up to get our emails.

Staff a Mountain Action Indivisible table at local farmers markets, pride fests, etc.

Organize a float for a town parade

  • Write a letter to the editor. We can help with ideas and editing. (Read Indivisible’s LTE tips.)

Start an LTE group w/ your friends; each person can submit one letter/month.

Collect and share stories from people who are being directly harmed by the Trump/Musk agenda. Brainstorm ways to get these stories in front of a broad audience.

Research and publicize how your town/city is being impacted by federal funding cuts.

  • Print and distribute t-shirts, hats, banners, signs, or stickers to show how many of us are outraged by what’s going on.

    Organize regular “street corner rallies”

Artists and musicians: help us communicate creatively about the resistance!

If people see no signs of resistance as they go about their everyday lives, they’ll think everything must be OK. Let’s think outside the box about different ways we can demonstrate how many of us oppose the Trump/Musk agenda.

  • Contact your local Chamber of Commerce and urge them to inform business owners about their rights if ICE shows up at their business. (Share A Guide for Employers).

Share data about the contribution of immigrants to our communities (see co-truth.org).

Reach out to restaurants and other businesses in your town and ask what their plan is if ICE shows up at their business. Do they plan to allow access or not? Will they require a warrant and do they know what one looks like? Have they shared their plan with their workers? Make sure business owners know they have rights and share this resource:A Guide for Employers.

  • Spearhead a demonstration about a specific issue.

Organize a group to speak on a specific issue at a County Commissioner, School Board, or Town Council meeting.

Organize a meeting with a staffer from the office of Rep. Hurd, Sen. Hickenlooper, or Sen. Bennet.

We can help you get press coverage and recruit supporters to your event.

  • Help administer our Facebook, Instagram, and Bluesky accounts

Serve as a Local Ambassador for your town/city/neighborhood.

Join our Letter to the Editor team.

Join our planning teams for regional protests (e.g., Town Halls w/o Rep Hurd; Tesla protest in Gypsum)

Join our Inclusivity team: Reach out to diverse members of our community, share info about MAI, gather feedback on our work, encourage participation. Help ensure our communications are all bilingual.
